“Emily’s Escape” is a beautiful traditional
detached cottage, idyllically located at the end of a quiet no-through road within
the delightful village of Braithwaite. The gently flowing Coledale beck winds
its way through the village which nestles at the bottom of the dramatic
Whinlatter pass and is located 2 miles west of Keswick,. The spacious cottage
dated circa 1820, retains many of its original features.
The cottage enjoys a small enclosed garden
area to the front and a large enclosed rear garden, lawned with patio and
garden furniture. Superb views of the Skiddaw mountain range and Coledale fells
can be enjoyed at the rear of the property.
A small village shop is at the end of the
lane and a 2 minute walk from “Emily’s Escape” takes you to either the Coledale
Inn or The Royal Oak, both cosy traditional Lakeland pubs offering real ales,
excellent food and roaring log fires in winter. “Emily’s Escape” is idyllically
situated with lovely fell & forest walks on its doorstep together with
Bassenthwaite and Derwent Water lakes close by.
The cottage has gas central heating and is
fully double-glazed. It is decorated to the highest standards with modern
attractive furniture throughout. It comprises of three bedrooms, one double +
single, one double and a single bedroom sleeping upto 6 persons in total. A
cot, high chair and extra camp bed are available if required. The living room
benefits from a stove effect electric heater, 36” widescreen TV with digital freeview (avail 2009), DVD
player/recorder and HD recorder. The large
Kitchen/Dining facility is very well equipped with electric Oven/Hob,
Microwave, Fridge/Freezer, Dish Washer and a Washer/Dryer. The bathroom is
newly fitted and incorporates a bath with shower over and screen, a hand basin
and WC.
There is parking for 1 car, storage
facilities for cycles but sorry no dogs/pets and no smoking. All power
costs/bed linen are included in the price (see accompanying price/availability
list). These direct prices are considerably less than booking via an
agent. “Emily’s Escape” is graded as **** “4 Stars” by the English Tourist
Board.
